"And next Thursday," Sunggyu concludes, flipping through the last page of paper in his hands, "you have an afternoon appointment with the judicial review board about that new contract draft. So you'll either have to push your lunch with Director Kim up by an hour or reschedule it altogether."
Woohyun—no, Sunggyu thinks, Director Nam—is quiet when he's finished, and Sunggyu is almost afraid to look up from the schedule. Being businesslike is fine; Sunggyu is good at that. But being businesslike with someone who knows exactly where to put his fingers to make Sunggyu come undone entirely—well, that's another story.
They've been playing this game for weeks, the one where they dance around each other and pretend they're company director and secretary—until Woohyun gives him a signal otherwise, and Sunggyu finds himself totally at Woohyun's mercy. It's unfair, how easily Woohyun can play him, and even more unfair that Sunggyu doesn't have the willpower (or desire) to put an end to it.
He risks a glance and finds Woohyun much closer than Sunggyu had thought he was, almost within touching distance. "Director Nam," he says, trying for serious and getting something more like breathlessness. "What—"
Woohyun reaches out and takes the papers from his hand, setting them to the side on top of his desk. There's a look in his eyes, dark and mischievous, and it has Sunggyu frozen to the spot like he's been pinned there. Sunggyu knows that look. After all, he's been seeing it for weeks.
Ah, Sunggyu thinks, suppressing a shiver. This again.
"Lock the door," Woohyun says.
Sunggyu thinks about pointing out that it's 11:00am, that Woohyun has a 12:30 lunch meeting with the director of their Japanese associate branch. He thinks about telling Woohyun that this has to stop, that he has to stop playing with Sunggyu like he's some kind of toy to be picked up and abandoned on Woohyun's whim.
He thinks about a lot of things, but he locks the door anyway.
