Yunho lets Changmin take the handgun (because Changmin's the better shot, and Yunho's hands are shaky), but he keeps the tommy gun for himself and no amount of wheedling will change his mind. It's been a long time since the last time they left bodies behind, but Yunho doesn't like to be unprepared. "Just don't shoot anyone for anything stupid," Changmin finally agrees, giving Yunho a long, inscrutable look. "Don't get twitchy."
The scar has faded to nothing but a tough discolored place on Changmin's side, but Yunho still gets trigger-happy about sudden movements. Sometimes he thinks that between the two of them, he was the one who came out of that incident more fucked-up. Well, except that Changmin still sometimes elbows him awake in the middle of the night in the throes of some nightmare.
"No promises," Yunho says. He kisses Changmin anyway, and lets Changmin bite his lip hard enough to bleed.
But when Changmin's not looking, Yunho takes the derringer and tucks it into his coat pocket as insurance. They have this planned to a T (they always do), but Yunho won't take any chances. Not anymore.
