Kyuhyun isn't big on sentimental gestures, but somehow, when it's Changmin, it doesn't feel like such a big deal. It seems less like a scene from one of the dramas Ryeowook likes and more like two people, two people who like each other a lot, two people with very complicated feelings sitting around in each others' presence.
Changmin holds one of his hands up, and after a second Kyuhyun presses his palm against Changmin's. When their fingers end up laced together, Kyuhyun doesn't pull his away.
"One of those days?" Changmin asks.
Kyuhyun knows what he means. One of those days is code for the times when Kyuhyun need someone there, someone to ground him (and hold his hand), but not one of his bandmates. Not someone who's known him that long, not someone who has a financial interest in his wellbeing. Kyuhyun doesn't think any of them care about him for only that reason, but it's hard not to think about when he feels like this.
"Yeah," Kyuhyun says, leaning his forehead against his other palm. "It's kinda... I forget about it for a while and then a storm starts brewing and my knee starts aching. My knee! I'm going to turn into one of those old people who predicts weather with my joints."
Changmin laughs, but Kyuhyun knows he gets it. Not exactly—there's not a lot that's similar to lying in a hospital bed for weeks, to waking up and finding out your parents thought you were going to die, to always being unsure when your broken body is going to give out. But Changmin knows what it's like to go through something awful and life-changing, and come out the other side a better person.
"Hey," Changmin says with a too-casual shrug. "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
